Nora Rivaud

Nora Rivaud was born in New York City to an American mother and a Spanish father with French ancestry, grew up in Mexico City and settled in Toronto in 1986. Perhaps reflecting this cross-cultural background, Nora has always loved language. Not only is she fluent in English, French and Spanish (with superior grammar skills in all three), she can read and speak basic German and Italian. Top that up with a thorough knowledge of Latin and Greek terminology (her other passion is the sciences, specifically biology), which enhances her ability to work on editorial projects involving medicine, nutrition and health.

Nora is a n accomplished translator, author, editor and researcher with some 26 years of work experience. She is currently head of the department of modern languages at Eastern High School of Commerce in Toronto, where students have called her "mean"—the ultimate compliment for a teacher, according to Nora.
